Looking Back on 2024: Progress, Lessons, and Milestones As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on 2024, the highs, the challenges, and everything I have encountered in between. I didn’t achieve all the goals I set out for this year, but it certainly wasn’t for lack of trying. One of my favorite sayings is, "WHEN IN DOUBT, ZOOM OUT" It’s a reminder to reflect and look back on how far I’ve come and to appreciate what I HAVE achieved. This property game isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon. It requires patience, perseverance, and perspective. So, what’s happened this year? Let’s take a look LOFT CONVERSION COMPLETED I built a loft conversion on my own house, project managing and carrying out 60% of the work myself, this helps when your a builder, a lot of weekends and evenings working. SOURCING BUSINESS GROWTH Continuously worked on growing JC Property Investments (Yorkshire) Ltd, focusing on: * Building strong relationships and connections * Marketing and networking * Viewing countless properties * Education REINCORPORATING MY BUILDING COMPANY Bringing back my construction company to manage in house refurbishments to help streamline my projects and clients projects. PRIVATE FINANCE SECURED Raised £50,000 from an investor seeking better returns, showcasing trust in my vision and ability to deliver. I built this investor a new build property back in 2018 on the channel island of Jersey. Just goes to show, keep relationships open and tell everyone what your doing. FINANCING FOR MY OWN PROPERTY JOURNEY Worked closely with a broker to secure the financing needed to take my own property journey to the next level. FOUND SOME TIME TO REFLECT My get away is hiking and walking, The Yorkshire dales in particular. I live close enough to get out as much as I can. I managed to tick off a few of the big ones with a bit camping involved. BALANCING FULL TIME WORK All of this was achieved while working full time as a subcontractor in the construction industry. It hasn’t been easy, but reflecting on everything I’ve accomplished reminds me why I do this. The groundwork laid this year sets the stage for bigger things to come. What’s in store for 2025? Well that’s a post for tomorrow. Wishing you all a reflective and productive end to the year!
