January was so busy for me but February is shaping up to be a bigger beast, and I'm so ready for it. I'm drawing on all my mental strength to do the little things that make a big impact on time management. and organisational structure. You know the usuals: Lists, spreadsheets, diary entries. etc. One of the things most small businesses tend to put on the back burner during busy periods is socials and promotion. This is certainly something I'm navigating whilst trying to spin so many other plates. Years ago, when I was in college we did a case study on McDonalds and their ad-spend, If my memory serves me right - the lecturer told us that Maccies allocate 20-30% of revenue on marketing. This is one of the reasons they have become such a household name; like Pepsi, Nike and many others. They value output and engagement with customers just as much in the busy periods as they do in the quiet ones. With that in mind I am allocating my time to first thing in the morning and on Sunday evenings when my brain is most creative to prepare the social media output for the week ahead. I'd love to know what you do to prioritise promoting your business in the busy periods? Do you have a set time for planning your digital marketing or do you just post & email when you have time?
