Last week, someone asked me: Is LinkedIn Premium really worth it? The truth is, social media platforms: LinkedIn included - are designed to keep you engaged for as long as possible. The more time you spend on the platform, the more ads you see, and the more LinkedIn can charge advertisers. This applies to both free and paying users. To justify the cost of Premium, LinkedIn needs to offer a clear advantage. It’s rumoured that a basic user’s post reaches only 10-15% of their connections, while Premium users see exposure increase to around 60%. Sounds great, right? But here’s the catch… once you upgrade, the upselling begins. You’ll soon be tempted by Sales Navigator for even more reach, and then a premium company page to boost visibility further. It’s a never-ending cycle. LinkedIn prioritises paid content, sometimes at the expense of genuinely great posts. So, is it worth it? That depends. If your products or services are at the £££ level rather than ££, you might see a return. But for many, the ROI just isn’t there. Would love to hear your thoughts, have you found LinkedIn Premium worthwhile?
