I had a really interesting chat with a client yesterday, who is also a mate. His in-laws were renovating and selling up, and my client asked me many months ago, to price to stage the empty property for sale. I didn't hear anything back, and because he's a friend, I didn't want to chase. They know where I am if they need me. I'm not going anywhere! "It's obviously not something they want to invest in. Shame!" I thought (or words to that effect πŸ˜† ). The in-laws have now had an offer accepted on their property, but it took several months to happen. Several months of still paying all the bills and associated costs with owning a property. Several months. A time period which decent staging could have signifcantly reduced. When I was chatting to my friend, and he told me about the sale, I spoke to him about staging and told him a few things I'd stupidly assumed he knew, but didn't. Info. that potentially he could have passed on to his in laws. Info. that could have got them a quicker sale. And me a new client. I'm kicking myself! What would you have done? Would you have reached out way back, and given them a nudge? Would you have tried to sell to a friend, even if it gave you the ick?! ** photo of a property we staged recently (video coming soon) and I can't wait to see the professional photos for this one! **
