You won’t be here forever. As part of any funeral for an on call Fire Fighter at the station that I support we’ll provide a guard of honour. A send off and gesture of goodwill from the Fire Service in recognition of your time served. Lining the funeral procession at the church doors yesterday. The sun was shining for him and his family. A lovely old chap who attended an open day last year where we had some old school fire appliances that he would have ridden back in the day. With a bad hip, he was thrust into the appliance cab on that day. His face - he was beaming from ear to ear. So happy to be back in that cab. I’m glad I witnessed that. Time’s precious guys.
