Ever wondered what goes through someone’s head right before they launch themselves off a ski jump at 70mph? On Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards – British legend, Olympian, and the man who made ski jumping part of British sporting folklore. Naturally, I had to ask him: when you're stood at the top of the jump, knowing there’s no going back… how do you just go? His answer hit me harder than expected – speed. Not physical speed (although there’s plenty of that), but mental speed. He said he moves so quickly between jumps that there’s simply no time to overthink. No time for fear, hesitation, or the luxury of procrastination. He just moves. It stuck with me. Because that's exactly how I’m trying to move as a business owner. Fast. Deliberate. Relentless. I saw a TikTok recently where a business leader explained that by the time their competitor’s had a meeting about an idea, they’d already tested three different versions, failed twice and landed on something that worked. That’s the energy I’m bringing into this year. Keep moving, keep learning, keep launching. Sometimes the only way to fly is to jump before your brain catches up. Thanks for the reminder, Eddie.
