Seven years ago, life threw me some curveballs at a time I least expected (personally and within my family) and I found myself feeling lost and overwhelmed. I stopped going out, lost all confidence in myself and the person I used to be (sociable, positive and driven) felt like a stranger. My mental health hit rock bottom: I struggled to fall asleep at night and tried all the remedies you can think of to help. I couldn’t focus on work and was tearful and anxious most days. I tried traditional counselling, but talking about what had happened just made me feel worse. Then I remembered something I’d looked into months earlier: Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. At the time, I’d been curious about it as a possible career change, but suddenly it felt like something I personally needed. I reached out to a practitioner, and that first session was a turning point. I wasn’t asked to relive everything or dig through all the pain. Instead, I was given support to focus on how I wanted to feel, and small steps I could take to get there. Slowly, I started to feel better. I built in simple habits again (like yoga and daily gratitude) and bit by bit, I began to feel like me again. That spark I thought I'd lost came back. The impact was so powerful that I knew I wanted to help others in the same way. So, during the pandemic, I retrained and became a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. Now, I have the privilege of working with people who are going through tough times of their own and helping them see that change is possible. If you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to turn, know this: you don’t have to stay there. Small steps can lead to big shifts. Curious about what this approach could offer you? Feel free to reach out, I'm always happy to chat.
