How crucial is a personal brand for deal sourcers? If no one knows who you are, what you stand for, or why they should trust you, how do you plan to build a sustainable sourcing business? Let’s be honest. The market is saturated with sourcers employing the same outdated tactics. Finding a mediocre deal on Rightmove, posting it on Facebook groups or WhatsApp chats with a vague caption, and hoping someone bites. No originality. No credibility. No professionalism. Here’s my perspective: To truly stand out, attract serious investors, and build a long-term business, not just hustle for quick commissions, you need a personal brand. Not just any brand, but one that’s clear, credible, and consistent. And yes, that means niching down. Being known for something. Creating trust before the first message even lands in the inbox. That’s precisely what I do with my mentees. We craft a personal brand that makes their mission recognisable, message relatable, and presence credible. Their ideal clients understand what they stand for. More importantly, their values align, so relationships are built on more than just deals. Here’s my B.R.A.N.D. Framework to help sourcers build a personal brand that stands out in a noisy market: B – Be Known for Something • Choose a niche. Whether it’s tenanted stock, rent-to-rent HMOs, or creative lease options—own your lane. • Aim for someone to say, “Oh yeah, that’s the go-to person for HMOs in Mamchester.” • Bland is invisible. Specific is memorable. R – Relate to Your Audience • Understand your ideal investor • Speak their language. Create content that addresses their problems, not just lists properties. • Build trust by showing you get them. A – Authority Through Content • Educate. Share successes. Break down deals. Discuss strategies. • Use videos, blogs, or short-form content to showcase your expertise. • Authority isn’t claimed. It’s demonstrated consistently. N – Nurture Your Network • Don’t just post and disappear. Engage, comment, message, follow up. • Be someone people want to hear from. Not just when you have a deal. • Relationships = reach. D – Deliver Consistently • Your brand is a promise. Every touchpoint—your Instagram name, your email tone, your LinkedIn bio—should align. • If you claim professionalism, be professional. If you stand for integrity, show it in every deal. • Consistency builds trust. And trust fosters loyalty. We have two spots remaining in this months mentoring intake. Comment 121 to learn how we.
