I’ve had a few conversations lately with people asking, “Why Bradford and Leeds?” Why not somewhere else? Newcastle? Liverpool? Etc Fair question. But the truth is, I keep coming back to these two cities for a reason. Several, actually. For one, the numbers just make sense. Rental yields in certain parts are still strong, and consistent capital growth year after year. That kind of combination is harder to find than it used to be. But it’s not just data on a spreadsheet. I can see there’s something else here, something that doesn’t always show up in the brochures. There’s momentum. Regeneration, demand from young professionals, solid local economies. You walk through parts of these cities and you can feel things shifting. And honestly? That’s where the opportunity is. I live and work locally in Leeds and Bradford. I know the postcodes, the streets, and more importantly, where the opportunities are. Through my sourcing company, JC Property Investments, I work closely with investors to identify those opportunities that align with their criteria, the overlooked properties, ones that might not look like much at first glance, but have real potential with the right approach. Then, using my building company, JC Developments, I take care of any refurbishments. That means less stress, more control, and a faster path from purchase to exit. It’s not always glamorous work. Sometimes it’s chasing trades on a rainy Tuesday or managing skips and chasing materials. But over time, it adds up,brick by brick. If you’ve been watching the market and wondering if there’s still value to be found, I think there is. You just have to know where to look, and what to do once you find it. Happy to chat if you’re curious. No hard sell. Just a conversation.
