For a long time, I thought growing my business online meant constantly shouting about what I was doing. New launches. New events. New features. And while I’m incredibly proud of the work we’re doing at UK Homes Network, here’s the uncomfortable truth I’ve learned the hard way… Nobody cares about your business updates if they don’t understand what’s in it for them. The posts that have landed best for me over the past year haven’t been about UKHN. They’ve been about people. About real stories. Struggles. Lessons. Things I’ve learned while trying to make progress, not just noise. If you want to build an engaged following in the property space (or any space really), stop trying to sell and start trying to help. Here’s a structure I’ve found that genuinely works: Start with a problem that your audience recognises something that makes them go “Yes! That’s exactly what I’m struggling with.” Then share a personal insight or lesson. What did you do about it? What worked? What failed? People are more interested in your lived experience than your polished achievements. Wrap it up with something practical or encouraging. A simple next step. A mindset shift. Something people can take away and use today with no call to action, no link to click, just value for the sake of it. You’ll be surprised how often that post is the one that drives the most DMs, comments, and connections. Because being helpful builds trust. And trust builds opportunity. So if you’re stuck on what to post next… think about something you’ve learned recently in life, in business, in property and share it. Honestly. Authentically. That’s how you promote your business without promoting your business.
