When the Ocean Becomes the Unexpected Classroom 🌊🦭🪼 The last few days of sea swimming have been a powerful reminder of just how unpredictable and humbling nature can be. On Sunday, a wild seal decided to join me in the water for the second time in recent weeks. This time, he was particularly playful, even giving my legs and feet the occasional nip 😅. I was fortunate, another swimmer experienced a much closer (and slightly more painful) encounter. Sadly, I think the seal’s boisterous behaviour was a response to being overwhelmed — chased and shouted at by people not realising they were intruding. It made me pause and reflect: we are visitors in their home, and with that comes a responsibility to act with respect and awareness 💙 The following day brought crystal-clear waters and a sea full of jellyfish. Stunning to look at… but yes, a few of us got stung, including me 🙈. Nature’s way of keeping us on our toes! I’m still hoping to spot the local dolphin 🐬 (just not a shark 🦈 😄). Every swim has become a small lesson in coexisting with wildlife, and the importance of respecting natural spaces. ➡️ These experiences have reminded me how much we can learn outside of traditional environments, sometimes in the most unexpected places. Have you ever had a surprising encounter with wildlife that changed your perspective? I wonder what’s in store for my swim today? 🤣 #NatureLessons #RespectWildlife #WildSwimming #LeadershipFromNature #OutdoorMindset #EnvironmentalAwareness #PersonalGrowth #LifelongLearning #BlueMind #WildEncounters #SustainabilityInAction
