The Days of Rent-2-Rent will soon be over. Landlords will need to be careful who they trust from 2026. Amongst other things, the current draft of the Renters Right's Bill will remove or void any clauses that would require vacant possession at the end of and Rent-2-Rent agreement (a usual condition). In other words, landlords will need to be very careful who they trust as a Rent-2-Rent agent as whoever they put in, you will likely be stuck with them. It is for that reason we only offer our Full Management Service (our version based on a percentage management fee) to those who we source properties for as members of our VIP Group (our end-to-end portfolio building service), or existing landlords who have requested and paid for our HMO Compliance Consultancy Service. Whoever you work with, ensure they do: - Tenant verification (legal requirement - Right to Rent, ID, prior address) - Guarantors or guarantor's insurance as standard - Tenant management and care throughout. - Ideally have a track record in either property or similar business. DM if you'd like to have a chat further. Is this the end of Rent-2-Rent? Comments below π
