Been quiet the last 48 hours because my actual boss set me to work. It’s been long over due but yesterday we had to replace the carpet in the house. The previous owner had what I called the ‘landlord carpet’ upstairs. You know the one… Has the thread count of a door mat, made of a mixture of horse's hair and plastic. It had got to the point where it was frayed around every edge of the room and made hoovering feel more like a game of minesweeper… one wrong move and you’re spending the next hour dismantling the hoover. Anyway… Emily is away at the moment with work so I took 2 days off to move the furniture and get the house ready for the fitters. We used Tapi Carpets in Rugby and a massive shout out to them. They called me the day before, mid-dismantling a bed… and said the carpet had arrived to the warehouse, but it had a massive fault running through the carpet. At this point I was ready to throw myself out the window but good old customer service isn’t dead. They offered us a carpet £35 a metre more expensive but for the same price including the discounts and special offers they gave us (don’t judge, we’re on a budget). They came round on time, installed it quickly and the lads were brilliant. Cleaned up after themselves and even shortened the doors for us. We even had a laugh at what a great deal we’d got on the carpet. I’m back to work today, but just know - I worked through the night to put the house together so I’ll be working from the floor today on my new carpet. Happy Friday everyone!
