Summer in the rental market is always a bit of whirlwind and this year it feels stronger than ever🌪️ Around a third of all new rental contracts start in the summer months, making it the busiest season of the year by far in the living sector.☀️ August alone accounts for roughly 12% of all annual moves, with the last week of the month seeing a 84% jump in move-ins compared to the yearly average. It’s the time when demand peaks, competition for homes is at its highest and all of us in the sector need to remain calm and ride the wave. For residents, it means the search for the right home is about more than price and location - service and experience carry more weight than ever especially whilst demand remains over 60% higher than pre-pandemic levels.📈 This is where Build to Rent has become such a focus for me personally, although I stay in touch with the whole market. With well over 130,000 homes now flourishing across a few hundred developments and more than 51,000 under construction, BTR’s summer surge has really been noticeable. Professionally managed communities, reliable maintenance and thoughtfully designed spaces are making renting smoother and more attractive for residents across the country. Having a well thought plan behind the scenes to accommodate the demand, operators are having to be well-oiled machines supported by partners like LOFT to keep homes move-in ready, replenished and designed to match resident expectations.🏆 For many, it’s no longer just about moving into a property, it’s about moving into a better way of living and a better experience for their future.👏🏼
