This week started off tough. I was majorly let down — and, frankly, disrespected — by two so-called ‘professionals’. It left me feeling despondent and questioning myself unnecessarily. Sometimes, it’s hard to stay positive when you're faced with others’ lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. But I kept reminding myself: “It’s not what happens, it’s how you react to it that counts.” That mantra kept me going… and today, my faith in humanity was restored — all thanks to a few wonderful people. 💫 Firstly, the lovely @Sam Bastow - we met briefly at The Developers Network Birmingham and he reached out afterwards to meet for a coffee. From the get-go, it was clear we shared similar values, and we chatted for hours about business, life, and everything in between… so long, in fact, we had to be kicked out of the café when it closed! Sam, thank you – your warmth and openness were just what I needed. Secondly, a surprise call from @mark1 who has been nothing but supportive since we met through UK Homes Network. He’s consistently liked, shared, and championed my posts. He’s travelled over an hour to attend my networking events (more than once!), and even come to one of my gigs with the lovely Christine (yes – I sing a bit too 🎤). Tonight’s call? Another recommendation. Mark, your support means more than you know. Thank you. And finally, a shoutout to our very own @Chris UK Homes Network and to @Athena Dobson from Girls in Property – who was Chris’s guest speaker on the UK Homes Network webinar tonight, and it was exactly what I needed. Athena- so much of what you said resonated deeply – especially after the week I’ve had. 🙏🏻 Chris, thank you for your ongoing friendship and for continuing to create spaces where real, meaningful conversations can happen. So … the lessons I’m taking away: ✨ Keep going. Setbacks happen – but perseverance is what sets you apart and builds resilience. ✨ Find your tribe. Surround yourself with people who align with your values and lift your energy. ✨ Listen to your gut. If someone makes you feel good – they’re a keeper. If not – let them go. ✨ It’s your business. As Sam rightly said to me - you get to choose who you work with. You’re in control. To all of you – thank you for reminding me what real support, alignment, and kindness look like. You truly made my day.💫
