The aches and pains are real. So, my marathon training has been going well. Kept to my plan while away on holiday in August. A variety of x 3 runs a week with the longer trek at the weekend. Fitness has been going in the right direction, feeling good. A nice set of new trainers - needed as I'm feeling the strain on the metatarsals in my left foot. Comfortable and I won't go missing in those bad boys - high vis right there.. Cold water and ice foot lunge under my desk to ease the pain. This week I need to rest. Take my foot of the gas regarding my plan. Rest the foot - some cycling to get the heart pumping instead. Any long distance folk have any tips? I want to be marathon ready for Chester on 5th October. I've never run that distance before - 17.5 miles my longest yet in training..
