Have you come across the saying "As useful as a chocolate teapot?" Prior to me entering the world of commercial finance brokerage, I had spent over 25 years in the world of corporate delivering multi million pound supply chain consulting projects and had the privilege to work with many global companies and brands. In 2005, I also started a side hustle in investment property. During my corporate role, I was trained from day one to fully understand a client’s business, so operations, processes, profit and loss, and balance sheet. This approach ensured I could clearly understand their business goals and requirements very early so that subsequent solutions that aligned with their goals could be delivered! And guess what? This approach is still important today to ensure that my clients property and business finance requirements get addressed correctly the first time around. No matter what you do, you could be a builder, surveyor, architect, it is important that you propose solution options only after you have fully grasped your clients actual requirements and timelines.
