The most expensive decision in property is often the cheapest quote On our latest project we had a choice to make between a really cheap contractor or the others that were more dear As tempting as it looks on paper, we didn’t go with the cheapest All the contractors were quoting on the same spec so it wasn’t about the scope of work But something just didn't seem right… Questions dodged Vague timelines I didn’t trust they’d get the job done We went with quite an expensive contractor and it’s been a great decision The site has run smoothly Very clear communication There have been a few minor delays (but I think that’s to be expected) And best of all, minimal stress Do you go for the cheapest because they are the cheapest? Or do you always go for the most expensive? The thing here is that really cheap or really expensive doesn’t mean the contactor is really bad or really good, they just price differently, have different overheads or work to different profit margins For me, it boils down to trusting they’ll get the job done, on time and on budget
