They didn't deserve to be spoken to like that. I took my son for a minor procedure at the hospital. The NHS staff were incredible - welcoming, attentive, and supportive. They made my son (and me) feel comfortable, relaxed and safe. It gave me a chance to reflect on a time when he was much younger (about 2 years old) and very ill in hospital. Back then, I was being battered with stress at work and was topping that up with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, it was my way to escape. That may sound familiar to you? I remember being antagonistic and rude to the staff, not because of them, but because of my own anxiety and stress, amplified by alcohol. That layer of alcohol in the system plays havoc with your nervous system and raises your stress levels even further. That agitated version of you. They were doing their best. On reflection, I was wrong. I could have been better. Gaining control over that unhealthy relationship with alcohol has transformed how I handle stress and how I behave for my family and work. It’s not just about removing alcohol. It’s about creating a balanced, healthier life and mindset. If you find yourself in a similar place, know that there’s a better way forward - one where you can be a more effective leader, parent, partner and person. I'm very grateful for the amazing NHS staff. I'm very grateful I made a decision to change. What about you? As a Senior Leader, is now your time to change? Message me if you'd like to discuss how you can transform your life to one full of energy, drive and motivation - positively impacting those around you and your business. Alcohol and bad habits can become a thing of the past. Action ➡️ Momentum ➡️ Results Chris - Your Results Coach
