Once a week, me, David, Shane and Rich jump on our UKHN team call. It’s one of the most productive hours of my week. And that’s saying something, because I’ve had plenty of weekly meetings in the past that were either stressful, dull, or somehow both at the same time. Basically where you spend 45 minutes talking in circles, leave with a headache, and nothing actually changes by Friday. These ones are the opposite. We come away with proper action points. Decisions that move the business five steps forward, even if we only nail three of them every time. We don’t win on everything. Sometimes we test something and it flops. Sometimes an idea sounds brilliant on Monday and looks a lot less clever by Tuesday. But the direction is always forward. Recently, the conversations have been big picture. Proper big. The sort of plans that would genuinely surprise people on the outside if they heard what we’re mapping out. That’s the bit I love most. No idea feels too small to mention or too bold to explore. Nothing’s off the table. We throw it all in, challenge it, shape it, then turn it into something practical. It reminds me why building UK Homes Network with the right people around you is important. You leave the call feeling lighter, sharper, and a lot more certain about what happens next. If you’re building something and your meetings drain you more than they drive you, it might be time to change how you meet… or who you meet with.
