Quick heads up everyone The government has now formally confirmed that rental properties will need to meet EPC C under new rules by 1 October 2030 — and the way this is measured is changing. It’s no longer just “get the rating up to C”. It’s about doing the right work, in the right order, under new EPC metrics. If it’s done in the wrong sequence, you can easily spend up to the £10,000 cap and still not be compliant. Fines can be up to £30,000 per property. This isn’t one to leave until 2029 when everyone is scrambling for assessors and installers. Just sharing so it’s on your radar early. If anyone wants a steer on what this might mean for their place or portfolio, feel free to drop me a message 👍
