Nice surprise this morning. I woke up to an email telling me I'd won on Premium Bonds. Less than a year ago, I put in £100 and today I've effectively doubled that money. Not life-changing, but still a nice win. I've never been interested in gambling, but it did make me appreciate why it can be so addictive. A seemingly quick win. My first thought was, "Maybe I should put more money in." I won't be doing that, but it was a useful reminder of how powerful emotions can be when money is involved. The reality is that long-term success in business and investing rarely comes from chasing quick wins. It comes from self-discipline, sticking to a plan, diversifying your portfolio, and making decisions based on logic rather than emotion. It's also important to celebrate the small wins along the way. Whether it's a £100 Premium Bond win, a new client, a completed project, or a milestone reached, those moments are worth recognising. They remind us that progress is happening, even when the bigger goals still feel a long way off. What small win have you celebrated recently?
