In 2025 around 700,000 companies dissolved in the UK. Out of those 700,000 companies, some of them still owned properties when they dissolved. When a company dissolves in the UK and doesn’t offload their assets before dissolution those assets then pass to the Crown. This is called “Bona Vacantia”. Bona Vacantia is a Latin term which simply means “ownerless goods”. Did you know that you can actually acquire these properties? When you go digging for information, you’ll run into official guidance which is vague and offputting. This is by design. It’s designed to protect the CROWN from liabilities and also the public purse. There isn’t an agent to call, and there isn’t a For Sale sign. So what do you do? If you want to acquire one of these properties, and learn more about this hidden side of the UK Property market, send me DM.
