This week I went viral on TikTok. I’d been using my channel for over a year and never really got much traction over than our events highlights. On Monday, I got the idea to talk about my estate agency career. Specifically I spoke about a tactic used by a senior member of staff to value people homes. It wasn’t a trick I’d used personally but I had heard of other people experiencing or using the same way to value homes. I wasn’t expecting the reaction. After posting, I went out for dinner. When I got home the post had hit 30,000 views. It’s been going up ever since, I’m now at 172,000 views. My comments section is filled with hate and vitriol against me. Claiming I’m an ex-estate agent for a reason and that my experience is fake because they had never witnessed this. Those comments are all from estate agents. However from sellers there are lots of comments admitting to have had the same thing done to them. Even people about to pick an agent to list their property with asking for more help and information. Nothing has validated UK Homes Network more by seeing the levels of unprofessionalism and toxic use of social media by a small minority of individuals in our industry. Needless to say, I’m not giving up and doubling down to help the people that find my content helpful.
