Life lesson #1: nobody is going to save you. When I started building Merryoaks, there were a lot of late nights and weekends that should have been spent with my family. Instead, I was working. I had the kind of schedule that didn't leave much room for anything else and that wasn't always easy. But the work still needed doing. When you're responsible for clients and a growing business, you can't just leave things unfinished because it's 5pm. Nobody else is coming to sort it out so you must do it yourself. Looking back, I'm so grateful for how supportive my family have been through this journey and hand on my heart, Merryoaks wouldn't be where it is today without that.
