Sadly, a lot of lenders don't know their own product. Some take on a case, sit on it for weeks and come back with a decline that could have been found much earlier. And the frustrating part is that most of this is avoidable because when a case is packaged properly upfront, there's no room for ambiguity. Time kills deals and a lender who overpromises and underdelivers is one of the most expensive problems a developer can have. My team spends hours getting a case right before it reaches a lender's desk. We expect the same level of seriousness in return. And this is exactly why experience matters. Many people think a broker's value is just finding a lender. I'd also argue it's knowing which ones not to use.
