Over the last 14 years, Kathryn and I have worked closely with a designer, managing procurement for large interior design projects, which involved: Running trade accounts. Managing client funds. Chasing suppliers. Coordinating bespoke orders. Tracking deliveries. Resolving the inevitable issues that crop up. It's work I genuinely enjoy (organised, pattern-obsessed, problem-solving geek that I am 🤓)! Since starting Hazel & Jayne, it's made me wonder: Would independent interior designers ever outsource their procurement? Not the creative work. Not the client relationships. Just the ordering, supplier coordination and project administration. Is this something that would save you time, or is it a part of your business you'd never hand over (because you secretly love it that much too 😉)?
